The bodybuilding world is well aware of the fact that many in the sport engage in PED usage to enhance muscles and bring out the best physical features that they can flaunt. However, the undeniable fact exists that when one takes anabolic ster**ds, they experience an unnatural boost in testosterone. Due to this, the body will strive for equilibrium and start to produce more aromatase. This is not good news for testosterone because aromatase gets converted into estrogen. This is where synthetic aromatase inhibitors like Aromasin come into play.
Aromasin does not block the production of Aromatase and as a result, the estrogen levels are also kept at a low, and testosterone levels become sky high. This seems like a pretty good solution, don’t you think? You’re not only keeping testosterone high and estrogen at a low, but also gaining the massive muscles that you always wanted. But hold up, even though Aromasin is going to counteract some of the side effects of anabolic st**ids it is still a medication that needs to be taken carefully and might have side effects if not taken with proper medical supervision.
What is Aromasin?

Aromasin is a dr*g that was primarily marketed as Extremestane to the medical industry. The medicine helps in breast cancer cases. In certain cases of breast cancer, estrogen does not help, because it fuels the growth of more cancer cells, especially after chemotherapy. Aromasin is a medication that is used to decrease the amount of estrogen in the system, thereby stopping more cancerous cells from developing.
The medication was designed to help postmenopausal women who tried to get rid of breast cancer. However, since this medicine can cut the production of natural estrogen, it went on to gain popularity in the bodybuilding world as well.
How to use Aromasin in bodybuilding
In the bodybuilding industry, professional bodybuilders focus on using this medication as a supplement both during and immediately after a cycle. After synthetically supplementing for a particular cycle, the natural production of testosterone in the body will decrease.
Since the testosterone levels are going to be low, and estrogen is at an all-time high, this is where the role of Aromasin comes in. The drug can help to keep the estrogen levels lower long enough for your natural production of testosterone to be rebooted. However, like any other medication, Aromasin also has side effects.

Side effects of Aromasin
Even if this medication can help in avoiding side effects from other anabolic dr**s, this does not mean that does not have any side effects of its own. Let’s take a look at those:
- Muscle and bone pain- During trials, some subjects were reporting muscular and skeletal pain when they were receiving the treatment of this medication. Multiple studies have confirmed this fact.
- Depression and anxiety- There is no official research that has connected aromasin to any decline in mental health or community function, but there are many people who have reported an increase in anxiety and depression after taking the medication.
- Hair loss- If you are already using any anabolic st**ids, then there are chances that you will be well aware that your hair is going to fall off. Hair loss is a very common side effect of many anabolic drugs as well as aromasin. This medication might help in increasing testosterone and reducing estrogen but it cannot stop the testosterone from becoming DHT, the major reason for your hair loss.
- Spike in blood pressure- This side effect is not specific to aromasin, but it is still worth mentioning as it can cause serious problems in the system.

Using Aromasin for an increase in testosterone for bodybuilding is possible, but the fact of the matter is that medical practitioners do not approve it for use as a supplement. Additionally, the World Doping Agency lists Aromasin as a banned substance for any sport, but as one can see, this has not hindered its usage in the realms of bodybuilding.
