Arnold Schwarzenegger has lived a life full of surprises and challenges. The seven-time Mr. Olympia winner had his share of troubles during his childhood years in Austria. However, things took a positive turn when he stepped on American soil and his career kick-started. Years later, after he served as the Governor of California, and was a renowned name in Hollywood, his relationship with the press was also full of challenges.

Even though many of them saw him as a ‘bad guy,’ he also shared fond memories with a few of them. Quite recently, during his time at the Sacramento Press Club, the bodybuilding veteran took a look back in time, at his tenure as the Governor of California. During this time, he shared a sweet reminiscence of himself and the journalist that was interviewing him.

While taking a look back at his relationship with the press over the years, Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted that his roles in action movies took a toll on his reputation as the press declared him a “right-wing” killer. However, he does share a good bond with a few of the journalists. Elaborating on a previous interview, Arnold started the story with a sincere apology for going back on his word. He stated, “I hope you don’t crucify me for that one.”

Arnold revealed that previously, before an interview, “she had wet hair, and she had a bathrobe on.” The journalist retorted in jest that this was a Facetime call. Adding to the fun, ‘The Austrian Oak’ confessed that she made him promise her that he wouldn’t tell this secret to anyone. Schwarzenegger jokingly concluded his story by saying, “I just want to keep it between the 350 people that are here so they all can keep a secret.”

Schwarzenegger admits he can never get what he truly wanted

Despite serving as the Governor of California for years, Arnold Schwarzenegger was denied the chance to run for the President of the United States due to the rules set by the constitution. While this certainly came as a shock to Arnold initially, he has accepted it now. Being an Austrian by birth, the American constitution does not allow anyone who is not born in America to run for president.
