There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach when it comes to training for bodybuilding. There are a ton of methods that can be used and implemented to attain a shredded physique. While there has been a heated debate going on about high-intensity training vs. high-volume training for decades now, both are proven to show good results if executed properly.

Just to avoid getting bored by following the same training method year after year, it is often wise to try different ways of training anyway. In a similar attempt, renowned fitness creator Alex Eubank recently shared a YouTube video where he tried the famous ‘Mike Mentzer’s high-intensity training split.’

Arthur Jones, a pioneer in the field of exercise in the 1970s, was the one who first introduced renowned “high-intensity training.” However, the name that made it even more famous was none other than bodybuilding veteran Mike Mentzer. He, in turn, coached the 6X Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates with this same method. Even though high-intensity training has its own followers, most people tend to not like this method. The freakishly low number of sets followed in a typical high-intensity training workout plan is not really convincing to many.

However, it has proved to be beneficial for some individuals. To try out various things, YouTuber Alex Eubank decided to give it a shot as part of his recent YouTube video. Eubank, known for his incredible aesthetics and perfectly pleasing Greek-God physique, tried this approach in his recent back session.

“For me, I did the bro split when I first started lifting, and I did a bunch of volume, like anywhere from 16 to 20 working sets, and I train each muscle group pretty much once a week, and I trained probably, I don’t know, six days a week. So it’s a lot different than that,” Eubank admitted.

This video came just weeks after Eubank got out of the hospital. In a shocking turn of events, Eubank was rushed to a hospital on a stretcher a few weeks ago after he risked his life as part of a ‘diet.’ Coming across this news, many in the fitness and bodybuilding spheres reacted to it, including IFBB Pro Victor Martinez.

A few weeks ago, IFBB Pro Victor Martinez sat down for a podcast with the Generation Iron team. Amidst many other topics Victor discussed during the podcast, he also talked about the two-day fast that Eubank did that landed him in the hospital. Martinez humorously asked about the influencer’s actions, saying, “What does he influence? Then he added, “Get yourself fu*k*g sick and go to the hospital; what does he influence?”

Martinez further stated that Alex must have had a wish to “connect to God.” Sharing his own experience with fasting, he admitted that he fasted himself, but it was unintentional. “I actually did pretty long, not by choice, but because I just felt like doing it. I did. I did it for about, oh yeah, two days. Yeah, yeah, it was long, but I wasn’t, of course, working out,” Victor revealed.
