When it comes to the realms of bodybuilding and powerlifting, it might seem very appealing to go heavier on the weights because of the boost in testosterone levels. However, it is very important to preach and act on ‘prevention is better than cure’ as even the slightest disbalance can cause a lifetime of regret. Something very similar happened with the powerlifting athlete Justyn Vicky.

The 33 YO Indonesian athlete was in his gym trying to make an attempt to pull out an impressive 387 lbs squats. However, he managed to lose his balance, and the rod slipped over his neck and pulled a nerve, causing his tragic demise. Weeks after the sad news, another legendary athlete was seen doing a similar mistake and the IFBB Pro coach slammed him for it.

A spotter can ensure and say, ‘Yup, you’re good. You can now let go.'” Having a spotter ensures that you have a safety net and even if you fail at any point in the exercise, they have got your back.
