Arnold Schwarzenegger has been vocal about his strained relationship with his dad all his life. Regardless, he ensured to be the best dad in the world while not compromising on the strict parenting part. The values instilled by Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger in their children are helping them navigate through life with generosity and gratitude. And the children agree. 

Recently, Arnie’s eldest son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Maria Shriver appeared on the E! News to promote their MOSH brand that offers brain health protein bars. In the show, Patrick Schwarzenegger expressed his joy for having iconic parents.

Patrick Schwarzenegger appreciates mom and dad’s parenting efforts

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver were married for 25 years before separating in 2011. They have raised their four children with care and affection while not missing out on teaching good values and discipline. While the Austrian Oak was in charge of discipline, Shriver handled other aspects of their kids’ childhood. So, Patrick Schwarzenegger very well knows from where he acquired his charm.

The show’s host on E! News asked the Midnight Sun actor, “Patrick, your mom and dad are both so famous, and you’re so lovely. What did they do, so they didn’t ruin you with the Fame of Hollywood?” Elated by the compliment, the 30-year-old added, “They both have been such amazing parents. Both came from very different backgrounds and have instilled a lot of different traits and qualities in us.”

The MOSH co-founder also noted how his parents are so much into giving back to society, which forms the theme of their recent venture to fight Alzheimer’s. The eldest son of Arnie called himself “lucky” for having Shriver in his life. Earlier, Schwarzenegger revealed how he grounded his children for not following rules.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daddy duties

While The 7x Mr. Olympia champion is good at giving a haircut to Patrick, he is also good at punishing him in childhood. Patrick often left the lights in his room on, even when not in use. So, Schwarzenegger tried to mend his son’s way by lecturing him about how electricity was scarce in his childhood in Austria. But the young lad refrained to change. So, Arnie removed bulbs from the room each time they were left on without purpose. 

Finally, the room was dark, leaving Patrick Schwarzenegger in tears. The eldest daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger, also found her shoes burning in the fireplace when she didn’t abide by her father’s command of not leaving them near the fireplace.

The Terminator icon’s disciplining worked as the kids turned out to be perfect and are now contributing to the welfare of society in multiple ways. Schwarzenegger is proud of them and appreciates their efforts to give back to society.
