Jay Cutler has undoubtedly etched an indelible mark for himself in the realms of bodybuilding, having crossed the huge milestone that he had set for himself – fit for 50. He has managed to craft one of the healthiest and most aesthetically pleasing physiques in the industry. The 4x Mr. Olympia Champion made sure that he put in more caution into maintaining his physique as he celebrated his 50th birthday a few months ago.

However, just like any other athlete, there are cheat days, and certain cheat meals just become unavoidable. Jay Cutler shared one such incident, where his favorite cheat meal caused severe health complications.

One of the fan pages of the bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler, @JayCutlerTV, recently took to their YouTube channel and shared snippets from one of Cutler’s podcasts where he was seen talking about the results and consequences of training too monotonously. They captioned it, “I’m burnt out from Training…” 

As the video progressed, Jay Cutler recalled an incident where he went for a cheat meal and grabbed his favorite In-N-Out Burger. However, the effects it had on him were not very good. He said, “Started to feel a little under the weather, my stomach just didn’t feel right. I had plans to go to the gym that day, I laid down and I didn’t get up.”

He further goes on to add how maybe it was undercooked, or something since he ended up getting food poisoning. He added, “I was throwing up extremely badly, actually we got in a car to go to the hospital in the middle of the night because it was so bad.” The sickness caused a lot of realization for the bodybuilder, which led to changing his methods of training.

Jay Cutler goes low profile on training

As the video gradually progressed, Jay Cutler revealed how rushing to the hospital changed a lot for him as he realized that fifty was indeed a tricky age, and so it is important to be extra careful about anything that he does. He said he had many thoughts after the incident, along the lines of “I’m not going to train as much, and maybe I’m just going to focus on cardio.”
