His dedication yielded results as he lifted the Sandow trophy six times during his career. However, he admits that he missed out on enjoying his bodybuilding journey.

“I couldn?t afford to be distracted in the States and relax. It would?ve been to my detriment and I knew I had a timeframe for bodybuilding and wanted to push myself to the max during this timespan. So I stayed put in the UK, kept my head down and well? it all paid off in the end,”?Yates revealed in the caption of his recent Instagram post.

I’m doing this right now and having too much?fun might interfere.” He added,?“I was scared to relax man, because if I relaxed a little bit and enjoyed it, maybe I’ll just lose it.”
