Chris Hemsworth is no stranger to transforming his body for movie roles, whether it’s the mighty Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or his recent portrayal of a fearless mercenary in multimillionaire project, “Extraction 2.” The movie has captivated the audience with its thrilling action sequences in it. However, it’s Hemsworth’s commitment to maintaining a super soldier physique that has recently left fans in awe.
The Hollywood superstar recently created a buzz across media platforms as he shed light on his diet plan to mold himself into a physique of the character of Tyler Rake.

The Australian-born actor recently appeared for an interview on Van Vliet’s YouTube channel. In the interview, Hemsworth opened up about how he maintained an exceptional physique for the movie. However, contrary to what one might expect, the Hollywood star revealed that he didn’t have to make significant sacrifices in his diet for this particular role. “I didn’t have the strictest diet,… I generally ate pretty healthy,” he said.
The 39-year-old Hollywood superstar revealed that he was eating a wide variety of food during the filming of “Extraction 2.” Hemsworth stated that there were no compulsions or restrictions on what he could eat, as he was burning an incredible amount of calories on set and during training sessions and martial arts practice for the film.
Hemsworth explained that his body needed more fuel to sustain the physical demands of the role. Hence he was indulging in a wide range of foods to boost his body. “To be honest, I knew burning so many calories, I was just eating whatever because it’s generally healthy, but it didn’t matter, it’s just like fuel fuel fuel,” he said in the interview. However, Hemsworth’s approach keeps changing with every movie.
Hemsworth’s Diet in Extraction Vs. Thor
In the interview, the Hollywood megastar drew a comparison between his approach during Thor and Extraction. While Hemsworth had to follow a strict and disciplined diet to achieve the godlike physique for his role as Thor, he emphasized that the same rules didn’t apply to his Extraction character.

“For Thor, it is like much larger calorie intake and it’s in the usual sort of high protein, all the boring stuff, whereas, for this, I actually have to you know, and I didn’t have a very big window, but the slimmed down and become more functional flexible better movement patterns more martial art training,” he said. He also brought some changes in his intense workout routine to get a perfect shape for Thor.
