The three-time Grammy-winning pop singer Shay Mooney also struggled with weight issues a couple of years ago.

Making lifestyle changes often requires courageous willpower, as ‘Old Habits Die Hard.’ The icon of Dan+Shay focused on changing his unhealthy habits that were affecting his quality of life. The dad of three mentally suffered while playing with his young kids, as his excessive weight made him tired.
Reflecting on his terrible times of unhealthy living, Mooney revealed his struggle with panic attacks while on a Dan+Shay tour before the 2020 pandemic. “I was having panic attacks, and I’d never had a panic attack before, and I didn’t know what was going on,” he said in an exclusive interview with People. So, the 31-year-old challenged himself to walk on the hard path of fitness, quit sugar, and go “cold turkey” in terms of alcohol.
Despite the difficulty in accustoming to the new habits, the singer thrived and lost over “50 lbs.” The transformation has helped Mooney not just physically but also improve his mental condition. His clean eating habits and sober lifestyle helped him not experience panic attacks again. The Good Things singer recounted how being overweight made him feel terrible.

The extra pounds can result in poor health statistics, and research proves obesity can be one of the factors in many non-communicable diseases. On the other hand, the higher denomination on the weight scale can make individuals conscious of their looks.
‘Man, I’m tired of feeling horrible all the time,” he said. Blaming his undisciplined lifestyle, the singer confessed. “I knew that that was because of my unhealthy eating habits and drinking too much.” So, he started eating clean and focused on fasting and whole foods, and the results were evident.
