Greg Tarzan Davis got to feature alongside the acting legend Tom Cruise very early in life and can be safely called a fortunate lad. He co-starred with Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick bringing him much-needed recognition. Davis signed another iconic film with Tom Cruise, Mission: Impossible–Dead Reckoning Part One.

The actor is training hard for his role in the upcoming action film and recently shared wise advice from the Golden Globe Awardee. Reflecting on their interaction, the young actor recalls how his life took a dramatic turn when Cruise shared invaluable nutrition advice. Amidst a period of indulging in hamburgers and French fries, the star’s encounter with Cruise served as a wake-up call, propelling him towards a healthier lifestyle.

Davis preps hard for his roles in the movies. He learned to swim for Top Gun: Maverick and now trains rigorously for his next film. The Men’s Health YouTube channel shared a video of the actor’s training routine titled “Top Gun’s Greg Tarzan Davis’ Workout to Prep For Mission Impossible.

In the video, apart from giving a glimpse of his training routine, the actor revealed snippets from his interaction with acting icon Tom Cruise. Davis considers that the advice from Cruise is the best diet tip he ever received. The ‘Collateral’ star asked Davis, “Don’t eat shit foods.

The budding actor confessed, “I was eating hamburgers and french fries while we were at lunch one time and he walks up and he was like, “Tarzan, what are you doing?” I was like, “I’m eating.” “Don’t eat shit food.” However, after the incident, Davis did not completely quit junk food, though he never eats it while training.

Tom Cruise’s movies are high on action and stunts. And the pressure to perform well in his films can be high. However, Davis negates any such thing. “There’s no pressure necessarily. But you’re always thinking, What is he going to have me do next?” he said, per Men’s Health.

But the prepping journey for Mission Impossible:7 is quite exciting for the actor, as he is getting to train in martial arts, skydiving, weapons training, motorcycle riding, and drifting. He refers to his training routine as a “crash course of every wild thing” for his upcoming movie.
