Arnold Schwarzenegger realized his passion for bodybuilding and acting at a young age. The Austrian dreamed of traveling to America, becoming the best bodybuilder in the world, and getting into Holywood like his idols Reg Park and Steve Reeves. To achieve his goals, Schwarzenegger had a vision in his mind. Once he had visualized how he would achieve success, Anire didn’t listen to the naysayers.

Earlier, the former Mr. Universe appeared on The Patt McAfee Show. During the show, McAfee’s co-host asked the 76-year-old author how he gleaned motivation from the people who didn’t have faith he would make it in the film. The Austrian Oak answered the question by describing how he took on the challenges of filming Conan the Barbarian despite being a millionaire by then.

Despite growing up amidst poverty, the Austrain had dreamed of becoming Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympia as a teen. Hence, Arnie chased his dream with unwavering dedication. While many people settle into a comfortable rhythm after achieving initial success, the Austrian Oak didn’t let his hunger die out. Arnold Schwarzenegger followed his vision when he signed on for his $17 million breakthrough film.

The bodybuilding icon won seven Mr. Olympia titles before turning his focus to acting. While filming Conan the barbarian, he showcased similar tenacity. Just like the Mr. Olympia winner went all out in the gym, he gave it his all while filming the 1982 film. Although the filming process was grueling, and Arnie sustained injuries, he “always had fun.”

Schwarzenegger said he had to crawl on his elbows and knees on rocks. “I was bleeding but nothing mattered really, because I knew that when the movie comes out, it’s going to be great,” Arnie said on The Patt McAfee Show. The 76-year-old said he knew it would benefit his career. So, he showed no mercy on himself. However, Schwarzenegger was lucky to walk away from a near-career-altering injury while filming the 1982 film.

While filming the scene where a pack of wild dogs chased Conan, Arnold Schwarzenegger narrowly escaped serious injury. The Terminator actor had to outrun the pack of dogs and climb up on a rock to complete the scene. So, to make the dogs chase Schwarzenegger, the crew attached pieces of meat to Anrie’s costume.

Schwarzenegger ran for the rock, and the trainer was supposed to give Schwarzenegger a good head start before releasing the dogs. However, the trainer couldn’t hold the dogs, and they caught up to Arnie. The bodybuilding champion got bit and fell from the rock on his back. Fortunately, Arnie escaped with stitches instead of a spine injury.
