After the Mr. Olympia, the Arnold Classic is one of the most prestigious shows in the bodybuilding world. This is visible in the fact that even those who don’t compete attend the show. Special guest and five-time Classic Physique Olympia champion, Chris Bumstead gave fans an exclusive look at the expo that the live stream didn’t show. In a recently released video, one could see how he interacted with other stars of the bodybuilding world. However, his encounter with fellow competitor Urs Kalecinski was especially memorable.
In his YouTube video, Chris Bumstead went backstage to get a close-up look at the competition. The King of Classic Physique even got a chance to greet this year’s Best Poser Award winner, Urs Kalecinsksi, moments before he stepped on stage. Kalecinski, who always has time for jokes, greeted Bumstead with a hilarious statement. “Sorry Chris you’re not allowed (backstage),” said the 26-year-old.
“Get the f**k out of here. You’re just five times Olympia champ,” joked the German bodybuilder. Since Chris Bumstead only competes at the Olympia every year, Kalecinsksi added that “no one cares,” about Cbum at the Arnolds. “You’re just a normal guy,” said the Olympia bronze medalist. However, The Miracle Bear didn’t let Chris Bumstead off the hook and further roasted Cbum.

The Canadian champion bodybuilder was drinking a can of his sugar-free energy drink, Bum Energy. Kalecinski grabbed the can and said, “We are not friends anymore,” unless Chris Bumstead gave him 12 cans of Bum Energy. However, jokes apart, the exchange showed the camaraderie between the two Classic Physique competitors.
In fact, not just Kalecinsksi, but all the top Classic Physique prospects are on friendly terms. While they are rivals on stage, Chris Bumstead, Kalecinski, Ramon Dino, Wesley Vissers, and others, exemplify the Golden Era camaraderie off stage. CBum’s video also captured another noteworthy moment.

Chris Bumstead gets the lay of the land
The Arnold Classic 2024 witnessed the rise of the underdog, Wesley Vissers. While all eyes were on Ramon Dino becoming a two-time consecutive champ and Urs Kalecinski challenging him for the crown, few thought the Dutch Oak would emerge as the winner. However, during pre-judging and the finals, Vissers looked like the favorite to most fans and walked away the victor.
The YouTube video showed CBum witnessing history up close from backstage. The cameraman captured an epic frame of Bumstead from the back, where the champion observed the top contenders posing on the Arnold Classic stage. Currently, in his off-season, CBum might not have competed in the Arnold Classic 2024, but he surely has kept a close eye on how the challengers to his Olympia throne looked on stage.
