Thomas Steven Platz A.K.A., Tom Platz, a retired pro bodybuilder, was known for his massive legs in his prime bodybuilding days. The Quadfather was a part of Vince McMahon’s World Bodybuilding Federation and participated multiple times in Mr. Olympia. Now he might be retired from the bodybuilding industry, but he still is in the limelight because of his acting and active social media engagement. Recently, a video of Platz appeared on Instagram, where he revealed the secret to his workout that helped him achieve those incredible legs.

The Golden Eagle shared a unique technique that he believed to be a foolproof way of getting monster-calve muscles. Fans were quick to comment their opinions on the idea.

Tom Platz reveals a secret exercise for muscular calves

The Instagram video was uploaded by, ‘Muscle Mind Media’ on May 30th, 2023. Platz explained the unique exercise that he used to strengthen his calve muscles. The video captioned, “Tom Platz Reveals his BIG SECRET Behind his Massive Calves 🦵💥” showed him talking about a special calve exercise apart from the general standing and seated calve raises.

The Quadfather said, “But one thing I did on the standing raise on certain days and on the seated calf raise, at the end of my workout. I would put slowly, and progressively as many plates as possible, and my goal was to just hold the weight.”

The 67-year-old also focused on the importance of finding a middle ground to hold the weight that was not too high or low. He said, “Not up high, not really low, but in the middle to where I can hold it, I can barely hold it.” His fellow gymgoers helped him in this endeavor and would lift the weights as soon as he could not endure the strain anymore. Fans were divided on this technique and wrote some interesting comments.

One commenter wrote, “Actually, science proves the complete opposite about static’’. Another person disagreed with the exercise and said, “For everybody on this comment isn’t nobody in the world is going to get legs like that unless you do steroids that takes decades to get legs like that so I don’t even look at that.” 

One person sarcastically commented, “How to break your foot,” while another snidely remarked, “Plus it took a SH*T TON OF DRUGS.” A commenter agreed to the usage of steroids and said, “So, it wasn’t the steroids? 💀”
