As technology progressed in the 21st century, the world witnessed the rise of a sedentary lifestyle and associated non-communicable diseases linked to obesity. So, people started hitting gyms and took up other workout methods to keep up with their fitness goals. The fitness arena’s focus lies on the weighing scale and methods to keep it on the lower end. Weight loss diets and tips have entered the personal feeds of netizens as they become desperate to cut down on the extra fat gained by less active and unhealthy lifestyle practices. However, Stefi Cohen is here to offer valuable and sustainable ways to live a fit life.

The 25x World Record Powerlifter tries to delve into the topics of “clean” and “dirty” foods. “Unless you’re adding dirt, all foods are clean,” declares the 31-year-old physical therapy expert. She states that clean food typically offers more nutrition with fewer calories. However, when consumed in high quantities, it results in weight gain.

The boxing champion ponders “dirty” foods as “less nutrient dense” with high calories but suggests that moderate intake wouldn’t result in weight gain. So, instead of eliminating them from one’s diet, the powerlifter emphasizes, “Learn how to have flexibility so you can enjoy a Big Mac every once in a while without feeling guilty about it.” Earlier, Cohen taught her 1.1 million followers the right way to reduce weight.

The DPT’s advice on weight loss

The online fitness fads attract weight loss enthusiasts to get onto a crash diet or workout regimen that could give instant results. But the drawbacks include losing an enormous amount of muscle and water instead of fat from the body. Cohen has been in the fitness industry for a long time, teaching the right ways to lose weight while not getting to the extremities.

So, Stefi Cohen suggests focusing on building muscle. “You can be in a perpetual body recomposition cycle where you are adding lean mass to your frame, slowly shifting your fat to muscle ratio,” she states for better gains. She also emphasizes the moderation of diet regimes to not lose track due to strict regimes.
