Arnold Schwarzenegger is known for his supreme success in sports, cinema, and politics. While bodybuilding fans cherish him as the 7x Mr. Olympia champion, movie buffs celebrate him for his action-packed stunts in blockbuster films. He also left his mark as the two-term Governor of California in the 2000s. But what makes his story more inspiring is that he never gave up despite adversity.

Recently, the 76-year-old revealed how he had to start his training lessons from the beginning after an open-heart surgery in 2018. Months after the surgery, Schwarzenegger was assaulted by an unknown person, but the hero instantly recovered from the situation.

The bodybuilding maestro is known for his strength at the gym during his prime. Larger-than-life weights and action sequences narrate the Austrian Oak’s life. Despite positively contributing to different arenas, Arnie is not devoid of assaults in his life. But the 76-year-old knows that love and hate are the two sides of the coin. While he received the love from his fans open-handedly, he took the hate from critics uninhibited.

In 2019, Schwarzenegger was recuperating from a serious heart surgery. Despite the challenging circumstances, Arnie demonstrated remarkable resilience to swiftly recover. His determination was fueled by the desire to return to the movie sets for “Terminator: Dark Fate”. A clip published by the ABC7 YouTube channel captured an unknown man assaulting Schwarzenegger with a flying kick from the back. The Terminator icon was in South Africa for a public event.

Despite being stumbled by the force, the Governator immediately “quickly recovered” and could be seen seated greeting fans. According to the video description, Arnie posted on X, formerly Twitter, “I only realized I was kicked when I saw the video like all of you,” after the incident. Despite surgery months ago, Schwarzenegger was not affected by such a strong jolt.

The botched surgery in 2018

Arnold Schwarzenegger started training at the gym in his teens and soon realized his dreams of becoming the best bodybuilder of his time. He retired from the competitive stage in 1980 but still hit the gym to maintain his physique for his movies. However, even in his seventies, the Governator hits the gym daily. He started his newsletter this year to promote fitness among his followers and share valuable insights into a healthy lifestyle.

To motivate over half a million villages, Arnie opened up about his botched-up surgery in 2018. “I woke up, and all of a sudden the doctors were in front of me saying, ‘I’m so sorry, but it was unlike what we planned”, Schwarzenegger revealed. Despite the pain at 71, Schwarzenegger pushed through all of it to perform his role in Terminator 6.
