In the latest edition, Arnie has the ultimate way to control the menace of blood pressure.

The Arnold’s Pump Club brings fitness recipes and formulas to subscribers’ mailboxes free of cost. The recent edition delves into multiple ways to reduce blood pressure, which is a common issue in adults.

The 7x Mr. Olympia champion is known for his strict routines and training regimes from his prime and is super fit at 76. Arnie wants his fitness family to follow this simple hack to eliminate blood pressure-related issues. “If you’re looking to add a little blood pressure RX to your life, it’s not complicated or time-consuming. The researchers found that performing wall squats can help do the trick,” the newsletter writes. The key is to perform “four sets of 2-minute long isometric squats.

One should hold onto the seated part of the squat for 2 minutes while resting for 1 to 4 minutes between each set. “That alone could help improve your blood pressure,” Schwarzenegger’s newsletter suggested. However, the Arnold’s Pump Club didn’t simply state the facts but added a scientific breakdown of how isometric exercises help in regulating BP.

Unhealthy diets, sedentary lifestyles, and stressful work environments affect normal body functions, and high blood pressure is generally the first bodily change in most cases. While popping pills is the most sought-after way to control the condition, Arnie emphasizes choosing exercise over medicines. 

The Terminator icon confirmed, “They found that isometric exercise was most effective at reducing systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Isometric exercises require you to contract your muscles for a prolonged period,” suggesting a review of 270 studies. The increased period of muscle contraction releases more nitric oxide when it is relaxed. The chemical being a vasodilator helps in controlling the blood pressure.
