The actor and fitness freak is also an entrepreneur who co-founded the sports utility gear brand, Municipal. Coupled with acting, his ventures and investments in the fitness industry have earned Wahlberg a net worth of $400 million. Last year, Wahlberg invested in the P448 sneaker brand. Earlier, he showed off one of the shoes’ capabilities on a water test.

The?bodybuilding?and fitness enthusiast put the shoes through a range of tests. One of those tests included going through the agonizingly uncomfortable recovery method endorsed by many athletes. Bodybuilders, football players, and even other celebrities like?Joe Rogan?vouch for the method. So how did the new P448 shoes hold up?

Despite his busy schedule, the actor is quite active on social media. He often posts his in/famous 4 a.m. workouts to motivate and inspire others to get into fitness. However, yesterday, the 52-year-old had something different for his social media followers. Wahlberg put his P448 sneakers through a gauntlet of tests to see if the shoes’ performance degraded if they got wet.

However, the actor went the extra step and tested his athleisure product in water at different temperatures. In the video, Wahlberg pointed out that the footwear’s sole was the highlight of the product. The fitness enthusiast walked inside the pool while wearing the shoes to see if they could maintain a grip and take in water. However, the sturdy sole felt flawless to Wahlberg.

“Look at that grip. Wow!”?said Wahlberg. However, the following test would be tougher because Wahlberg jumped inside the cold plunge with his shoes on. While the recovery method has helped countless athletes, and Joe Rogan hyped it up in his podcast, it’s an uncomfortable experience.?“It’s cold as s**t…”?said Walhberg after spending a minute inside the plunge.

However, the results surprised him.?“You know what? My feet are nice and warm; they really are. It’s a beautiful thing,”?he said. Wahlberg also endorses the cold plunge because he has seen the benefits Rogan talked about in his podcast.

How cold plunges have helped Joe Rogan

Last year, the comedian turned UFC commentator raved about cold plunges?during episode #1870 of The Joe Rogan Experience. While describing his workout and diet, Rogan said a combination of sauna and cold plunge has helped him recover faster. The 56-year-old explained that he takes the combination after an intense workout.

According to Rogan, the sauna helped his heart rate remain high after an intense workout. He then hopped into the gold plunge tub to help release adrenaline and endorphins. The sauna-cold plunge combo was?“The one thing that?s shown to me to really have a benefit on the way I feel other than exercise,”?said Rogan.

While Marky Mark seemed impressed with the build quality of the sneakers from the get-go, the test he did proved their quality to him beyond doubt.
