Former Governor of California and bodybuilder, Arnold Schwarzenegger, left politics behind in 2011 after serving two consecutive terms. However, despite walking away from politics, the bodybuilding icon still has one unfulfilled desire. The Austrian Oak has said many times that he wished he could’ve run for president. Arnie even said he believes he would make a great president.

However, the American Constitution prevents the 76-year-old from doing so. Earlier, Joe Rogan discussed how the Constitution prevents people like Schwarzenegger from becoming President of the United States despite their decades of contribution to America. Rogan expressed his bafflement to his guest, Stavros Halkias.

While speaking to the stand-up comedian, Rogan expressed his amazement at Schwarzenegger not being able to run for president because he was born somewhere else. “How Nutty is that? You have to be born here,” Rogan said during the podcast. “The f***ing guy has been here most of his life,” the commentator told his guest. “Since his mother didn’t have him come out of her body on this soil, it doesn’t count,” the 56-year-old commented further.

Arnold Schwarzenegger came to the United States of America from his home country of Austria in 1968. The former Mr. Universe came to chase his bodybuilding dream and, over the decades, became one of the most beloved personalities in America.

The Joe Rogan Experience host mentioned how people born in America essentially win the “geopolitical lottery.” He said that people immigrate to America from all over the globe, yet many have lived as non-citizens. Even people like Arnold Schwarzenegger, who become citizens and hold political office, are restricted from the highest honor of becoming POTUS. However, Stavros Halkias mentioned how Arnie’s popularity affected the entire scenario.

After hearing Rogan speak on the issue, Stavros Halkias mentioned how Arnie’s popularity affected people’s perception. The stand-up comedian said that so many people loved Arnold Schwarzenegger that “there was some talk of challenging it.” However, in reality, no one challenged the rule of the American constitution.

Recently, while appearing in The Rest is Politics podcast, the host asked if Arnie considered returning to Austria to become chancellor. However, the 76-year-old dismissed the idea. The bodybuilding icon said he didn’t have a hunger for power and only desired to become the US President. Hence, going back to Austria is not part of his plan.
