The world of fitness and?bodybuilding?is often rife with various claims and theories about ways to boost testosterone levels naturally. One such claim, popularized by Joe Rogan and recently brought into question, is the belief that cold plunges can significantly increase testosterone production. While some studies suggest a potential correlation between cold therapy and slight testosterone elevation, the magnitude and consistency of this effect still remain uncertain. Mike O’Hearn recently discussed this topic with fellow fitness expert Clark Bartram and asked for his views on this.

O’Hearn revealed that Rogan once disclosed an example of his friend who increased his testosterone levels using cold plunges.?“Joe Rogan was talking about me, and The Rock and saying…”saucing”…Joe says…his friend was doing cold plunges and then going to training, and that bumped his testosterone to 1100,” O‘Hearn said. He continued by stating,?“It’s funny that Joe would say “somebody with 1100,” and the guy didn’t even look good but with 1100.”?What O’Hearn was trying to explain was that a high testosterone level doesn’t necessarily lead to a good physique.?

He insisted Bartram to take it from there and disclose his opinions on whether or not there is a correlation between cold plunges and high testosterone levels as Rogan claimed.

What does Bartram think of Rogan’s claims??

While cold exposure has numerous health benefits and may have some impact on testosterone levels, the direct link between cold plunges and significant testosterone elevation remains largely unsupported by scientific evidence. Clearing this up initially, Bartram revealed a theory of his own about cold plunges. He stated that he has no scientific evidence to back this up, but this is his logic that plunges might help individuals in boosting testosterone levels naturally.

“Your ba**s are gonna shrink…they have to warm up and go back and get bigger again right, the cells in there are getting activated…so getting small and having to get big again…there’s something working down there, why wouldn’t testosterone be activated,”?Bartram stated.?

It is important to note that testosterone production is influenced by a multitude of factors beyond cold exposure. Adequate sleep, proper _ nutrition, regular exercise, stress management, and overall lifestyle choices, all play significant roles in maintaining optimal testosterone levels. Ignoring these aspects and solely relying on cold plunges may lead to incomplete results and unrealistic expectations.
