Dr. Mike Israetel, aka the Exercise Scientist, is a well-recognized critic in the bodybuilding realm, and there one can seldom escape his eagle eyes when it comes to bodybuilding or transformation. This time, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president, Dana White, has caught the critic’s attention with his astonishing transformation.

White faced a lot of criticism from the former professor over the techniques introduced by his mentor, Gary Brecka. In the video uploaded by Israetel, one could see White sharing the problems he’s been facing for the past ten years, and how Brecka helped him overcome them. However, the exercise scientist didn’t agree with Brecka and called his ideas “Misleading“. Let’s find out why.

White follows the “Superhuman Protocol

Brecka put White through a “Superhuman Protocol,” and the Exercise Scientist seemed skeptical it. The “Superhuman Protocol” includes PEMF pads, cold plunges, red light therapy, and oxygen therapy. The former professor commented on the protocol, saying, “I‘ll say that giving you more oxygen than you need and doing cold plunges has, on the long term, an aggregate, almost no effect positively on your health unless you have a very specific context for it.

The bodybuilding critic highlighted that the protocol has no connection with eating healthy or fixing your sleep schedule and nothing related to stress management. “These are almost certainly not the big differences that made a huge difference in Mr. Dana White’s health and happiness; maybe they’re minor; maybe they had nothing to do with it at all, is my best guess,” he added.

The Exercise Scientist didn’t stop there; he showered criticism on the BMF pad. Taking potshots at Brecka, Israetel asked, “Is there a reason to augment the electromagnetic field of the Earth if we’re still on Earth?” He further asked about the “Dose-Response Relationship” and the potential benefits of the pad, along with the evidence for all the claims. “I’ll tell you right now not looking so good for the pad,” he concluded.

Israetel’s questions didn’t end there. He had problems with the cold plunge as well.

The Exercise Scientist debunks the effects of cold plunge on insulin levels

The human biologist claimed that the cold plunge can directly affect your insulin levels. Israetel, didn’t seem to agree with brecka and said, “Guys, the direct effect on insulin levels of a cold tub is d**k; the indirect effects on insulin levels are going to be two things very very tenuous, not guaranteed, and also, even if delivered, they’re going to be of such a small magnitude that merely taking a walk for several minutes will no doubt have better effects on your insulin levels than the cold plunge.”

The critic mentioned that the vast majority of the credit for White’s transformation goes to his physical training with Milos Sarcev and the diet he has been following. He further said, “What amount goes to these other modalities is in my scientific eyes, and I only have scientific eyes what, questionable at worst, at best, teeny tiny assistance.”

After going through the whole program, Dr. Israetel wasn’t convinced by the protocols devised by Brecka. What are your views on the matter? Do you think the “Superman Protocol” helped Dana White? Let us know in the comments.
