260 lbs bodybuilding beast Bradley Martyn is confident in his size and strength. So, the podcast host has been confident enough to challenge champion combat sports athletes. Martyn has also challenged fighters who haven’t appeared on Raw Talk. So bodybuilding coach Dr. Mike Israetel analyzed Martyn’s chances against a pro fighter.
Bradley Martyn drummed up quite the conversation after challenging UFC legend Nate Diaz and former undisputed lightweight boxing champ Devin Haney. The bodybuilder with a PhD in sports physiology and years of experience learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu took a closer look. However, the brown belt didn’t have good news for his fellow bodybuilder.
Although well beyond his prime, Nate Diaz had a legendary career in MMA, and Israetel acknowledged that. While Bradley Martyn has the weight advantage against Diaz, the exercise scientist gave him no points on skill. However, the amateur bodybuilder also negated Bradley Martyn’s weight advantage against The Stockton Slugger.

The Youtuber explained that while Martyn might be able to escape Diaz’s unorthodox striking, it wouldn’t help by taking him down. “You were in his world standing up. You get him to the ground, you’re also in his world,” said the bodybuilding coach. That’s because Nate Diaz is a world-class submission artist.
If Bradley Martyn managed to take down Nate Diaz, he would have nowhere to escape from Diaz’s grappling skills. Dr. Mike also explained that Nate Diaz isn’t afraid to fight in the streets. Israetel said Diaz fights in the octagon like he fights in the street. The fitness YouTuber couldn’t see Martyn winning.
So whether it’s the octagon or the streets, Mike Israetel didn’t think Barley Martyn would have an answer for Nate Diaz’s striking and BJ. While strength amplifies skill, Israetel thinks Martyn’s skills aren’t enough. However, things could be different with Devin Haney.
Bradley Martyn vs. Devin Haney
While Nate Diaz is an expert in striking and a master at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Devin Haney has no ground game. So Mike Israetel gave Bradley Martyn a higher chance of defeating Haney in a street fight. However, the Renaissance Periodization founder also agreed with Haney about the speed and skill advantage.

While Bradley Martyn weighs over 100 lbs more than Haney, he would have to get close to the champion. However, Haney argued he had enough power and skill to take Martyn out even before he could get a hold of him. Israetel agreed. Interestingly, despite losing to Ryan Garcia recently, Haney is among the top 10 hardest-to-hit boxers in the world, according to Compubox.
So, while Bradley Martyn may drum up a heated conversation among boxing and bodybuilding enthusiasts, Mike Israetel doesn’t think size and strength will prevail against elite professional combat sports athletes.
