Mr. Olympia 212 division champ Keone Pearson has shared his perspective on the approach that led him to win the Sandow Trophy amidst an intense battle with depression. While the prodigy fought back and earned the coveted title, he has shared now shed light on what made him stand out.

In a recent podcast with seven-time Mr. Olympia Flex Lewis, Pearson was asked about the secret to his success. His answer was both simple and profound. “What sets me apart, oh man, my mindset,” he said. But what did that mindset entail?

Pearson believed that having the right mindset is crucial, and this depended on how much you really wanted to succeed. “Are you willing to do the things other people are not willing to do? Are you willing to be perfect? Are you willing to be better every single day?” Pearson questioned, reflecting on his dedication and relentless drive.

In the original video on YouTube, he also shared details about his journey weight loss journey as well. Pearson explained that he was 230 pounds at one point, then dropped to 217 pounds before Texas Pro, and finally competed at 199 pounds during the Olympia.

The journey to the top was not easy for Pearson. He opened up about the psychological toll during the 2020 Olympia. After his 2023 victory, he shared his journey from 2020 to 2023 on Instagram, highlighting the lows and highs. In 2020, he had to sit out of the Olympia after hitting one of the lowest points of his life. In 2021 he finished 14th, and in 2022, he broke into the top 10, reigniting his hope. However, it was in 2023 that Pearson returned to his best.

Finally, in 2023, Pearson clinched victory. He wrote on Instagram, “You can do anything if you put your mind into it. Tuned the negative noise out & make sure the people around you only want to see you GROW!!!” This newfound confidence continues to drive him, as evidenced by his recent impressive off-season prep images.

The reigning champ has amazed bodybuilding fans with his preparation updates for the 60th anniversary Mr. Olympia set to happen in November. His preparation photos have been so good that they have instilled confidence in fans about him remaining the champ of the 221 division. Bis and Tris had reshared his recent physique update with the caption, “The reigning 212 Mr. Olympia @keone_prodigy is starting his prep at 226.5 lbs and just over 18 weeks out. Operation ‘And Still’ is in progress. Coached by @ptuor.” Despite weighing 226.5 pounds, he maintained his conditioning and symmetry during the off-season.
