May was a quite busy month for competitive bodybuilding with prestigious shows like Pittsburg, New York Pro, and more. However, June looks no different with IFBB and NPC shows happening across the globe as the 2024 Mr. Olympia approaches. Among these, the 2024 Oklahoma Pro Show turned out to be unique. Most NPC/IFBB national qualifier contests feature multiple divisions where men and women from different weight classes compete. However, this year’s Oklahoma Pro consisted of only one bodybuilding division.

The show only featured the men’s Classic Physique division but across multiple age categories. In fact, the bodybuilding contest hosted a Classic Physique face-off in six different age categories. Interestingly, some athletes competed multiple times in multiple categories. However, only one bodybuilder walked away with a ticket to the upcoming Mr. Olympia to compete against a stacked Classic Physique roster.

Among the six age categories at the Oklahoma Pro, four categories fell under the Masters’ age group and hence bodybuilders from these age groups weren’t eligible to qualify for the Olympia. So bodybuilders battled it out in the Men’s Classic Physique Open category to earn their ticket to Vegas. 15 athletes competed in the category at the Union H.S. Performing Arts Center in Tulsa.

However, Robert Timms emerged victorious. The bodybuilder brought superior muscularity and proportions to the Oklahoma Pro Show stage. He earned the Overall winner’s trophy and an Olympia qualification. Back to the O, wrote Timms in his Instagram story after winning the title. The bodybuilder will now prepare to compete against the likes of Chris Bumstead and Ramon Dino in the Classic physique category.

However, the athletes who competed and won in their respective age categories have more to look forward to than just winning the IFBB Oklahoma Pro title. The IFBB revived the Masters Olympia after a long hiatus in 2023. While they haven’t announced anything about the 2024 Master’s Olympia, there’s hope that the contest will return year in the future.

While the Oklahoma Pro may not be the grandest IFBB Pro show, it remains a national qualifier and this year Robert Timms earned his place in the upcoming 2024 Mr. Olympia by winning the contest.
