Larry Wheels combines the best of both domains to realize his dreams. The record-setting powerlifter is now after bodybuilding trophies and defying the odds to become the future Mr. Olympia.

The latest Instagram story of Larry Wheels reveals his latest feat at the gym and discloses his intention behind it, but not in a funny way.

Larry Wheels challenges himself

The 28-year-old’s life is no short of a rags-to-riches story. Growing up in underprivileged conditions and as a victim of bullying, Wheels understood the essence of strength and power very early. So, his quest for training started in childhood, and unlike many Wheels early gym equipment included 40 lbs of concrete blocks tied to broomsticks. 

 

But that was only starting. Wheels later went on to lift a total of 2,275 lbs at 275 lbs body weights, setting a new record in the powerlifting arena. Now, the 28-year-old is focusing on his bodybuilding journey and shared a snap of his massive guns from his110 lbs construction curl.

Trying to tear my bicep again,” Wheels added, taking a self-dig. With hard work and perseverance, Wheels ensured to carve his path as a record-winning powerlifter. However, his thirst for success didn’t quench, and the powerlifting icon now transgressed the bodybuilding arena to prove his mettle. 

Larry Wheels beat the odds with resilience

Wheels chose weightlifting to overcome the destitute of his childhood and trained at the gym to become a self-made powerlifter. But life didn’t stop testing the icon’s resilience. Revealing the diagnosis of the life-altering condition Rhabdomyolysis, Wheels wrote, “I fk*d around and got Rhabdo. lightheaded af,” in one of his Instagram posts.

Several injuries, including bicep tears, didn’t freak out Wheels as he continues his training regime to realize his dreams. With each passing day, he is one step closer to his vision. In the recent Mr. Olympia, he participated in Amateur competitions.
