Arnold Schwarzenegger, the professional bodybuilder turned actor was diagnosed with dyslexia early in his life. Despite that, his bodybuilding dominion has been such a hit that his legacy still shines in the name of the Arnold Classic, the annual bodybuilding competition. But his stint as a movie star takes the highlight now.
Schwarzenegger has been one of the prominent names in the action movie world. Toe-to-toe with arch-rival Sylvester Stallone, the 76-year-old tried to outpace his fellow action movie icon on several occasions. One incident surfaced in 1985 when one of his allegations against Stallone took the internet by storm. Now, 39 years later, he further dug that up but uniquely.

Though he had some good notes to share, his frustration also came to light simultaneously. He said, “Before us, there were no action movies where the guys were really believable speaking”. Speaking of Conan the Barbarian, where the 76-year-old played the main role, “There was no one around with a body like that. So, I was kinda the perfect guy for that time”.

He not only had to do all the stunts himself but also received surface-level help from the stunt coordinator from afar. “Really frustrating…I had to do a lot of the stuff. I was trampled by horses,…got cut with the swords”. While the hosts were trying to lighten the mood, Schwarzenegger’s rough heydays earned him a place in their hearts. But let’s go back to his controversial statement.
Schwarzenegger’s remark
The bodybuilding prodigy took pride in his skills and on-screen moves. But he alleged that Stallone uses body doubles, which was not overlooked by the internet then. In an October 1985 interview with The News of the World, the Conan actor said that he “would be angry at hearing [their] name in the same breath”. But as the rivalry started thickening, it didn’t require a lot of time to put an end to it.

In the late 1990s, both of them decided to invest in a joint acting venture. Since then, the duo worked in The Expendables trilogy and backed each other on several occasions, financially and mentally. At 76 years old, Arnold Schwarzenegger is continuing to contribute to the entertainment world in full swing.
