Renowned American sprinter Michael Johnson confidently predicts that 27-year-old Ferdinand Omanyala, the fastest man in Africa with a record in the 100-meter sprint, can secure victory at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest. Johnson, a former athlete with an impressive record of four Olympic gold medals and eight World Championship gold medals, believes Omanyala will lead the race in Budapest and bring home the coveted gold for the East African nation.
Johnson, at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, achieved the remarkable feat of winning both the 200 meters and 400 meters events at the same Olympics. tweeted that Omanyala?s muscular physique has tremendous power. However, the Olympic legend also has doubts about the bodybuilding aspect that needs to be cleared.

The 8-time World Championships gold medalist believes that Africa?s Usain Bolt?s heavily built muscular physique might be an added advantage for him. However, he also questioned if any other coaches think otherwise.

On July 21st, Omanyala made history by becoming the first Kenyan to achieve a winning a spot in the 100m race at Monaco Diamond League after finishing in 9.92 seconds. By winning against Akani Simbine of South Africa at the African Championships in 2022, he was dubbed the fastest man in Africa.?
Omanyala seems prepared for the World Championships since he has shown impressive results in previous competitions. His coach Duncan Ayiemba had something to say about Johnson?s observations in a recent tweet.

What does Omanyala?s coach think of Johnson?s opinion?
Ferdinand’s coach Duncan Ayiemba said that Michael?s observation is good, as per ‘Daily Nation’. However, he quickly added that the Kenyan Commonwealth title holder?s physique is natural, which is not easy to alter. Kenya?s sprints coach, Steven Mwaniki said that Omanyala?s physique would not cause any hurdles in his agile movement or speed.
Seems like the coaches and experts do not think that his physique will cause a hindrance. Omanyala is also very confident about his abilities. According to ‘Sports Brief’, he has warned his rivals to watch out for the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
