Hollywood movie stars are often perceived as the torchbearers of intense fitness regimes with their incredible physical transformations. These popular fitness routines often gain significant attention among bodybuilding fans. However, even the most renowned celebrities sometimes commit simple mistakes which are highlighted by the experts. And one popular exercise scientist, Mike Israetal recently highlighted similar mistakes in the workout routine of popular Hollywood star Brie Larson during her preparation for the iconic role of Captain Marvel. 

The popular fitness expert recently made headlines as he debunked a myth about Larson’s warm-up technique before diving into the actual workout. 

Mike Israetal suggests the best form of exercise

In a recent video posted by Renaissance Periodization, exercise scientist Mike Israetel analyzed Brie Larson’s transformation journey for Captain Marvel. During Brie Larson’s warm-up routine, her trainer added half kneeling band rows in the warm-up set before squatting. The trainer claimed that it would help in stretching the spine And warming up the overall body posture before getting into the main set. However, Israetel argued that this approach was flawed and did not yield the desired benefits.

“This is total fluff it is a total waste of time I don’t recommend you do it.“, he said in the video. Instead, he emphasized the importance of doing the same exercise that one intends to perform during the workout but with reduced weight and higher repetitions. Israetel said that the best way to prepare the spine before squats are to perform squats with lighter weights only.

“There is no better warm-up than the warm-up with a lighter weight and greater reps of the same exercise “, he added. According to the exercise scientist, this method not only saves time but also effectively stretches the targeted muscles without altering the technique. However, this is not the first time that the fitness regime of a popular star has been challenged by someone. 

Another fitness Influencer’s opinion challenged

Popular powerlifter Greg Doucette also made headlines when he posted a video reacting to Mike O’Hearn’s opinion on the relevance of a strong hamstring. Mike O’Hearn is a renowned figure in the fitness community and often stays in the limelight for his exceptional physique even at the age of 56. However, the powerlifter questioned his opinion that strong hamstrings are necessary for the strength of the knee.

Doucette took his personal example to challenge the theory of the Titan. He said that even though his hamstrings are the strongest part of his body his knee still hurts after the meniscus tear.  “Why is it that I have a meniscus tear, and it hurts my knee, Mike?”, he asked. Search incidents highlight that even popular celebrities have some loopholes in their routine. However, it is crucial to acknowledge them in a healthy way rather than bashing the opponent.
