During his peak years, bodybuilding legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger became a global icon for his strength and physical prowess, including deadlifting 710 lbs. However, over time, the champion faced significant health challenges, including two open-heart surgeries due to a congenital heart condition.

In a 2023 YouTube video, he shared his ongoing commitment to daily workouts, joined by comedian Fortune Feimster and TV host Bert Kreischer at Gold’s Gym. The video provided insight into the 75-year-old’s continued dedication to fitness despite his health issues.

Schwarzenegger continues to prioritize fitness not only for his passion but also for health reasons. In conversation with comedian and TV host Bert Kreischer, he acknowledged that his history of heart surgeries requires him to be more mindful of his workout routine. After their workout session, Kreischer asked Schwarzenegger why he continues to train so diligently. “Are you training to get bigger, or just to maintain?” he inquired, curious about Schwarzenegger’s current fitness goals.

Schwarzenegger quickly responded, “I’m just maintaining, yeah.” He then explained that his numerous heart surgeries have also caused him to make other lifestyle changes, including avoiding heavy drinking. “But I don’t drink heavy anymore, too many heart surgeries,” he shared. The conversation continued with some light-hearted banter between Schwarzenegger and Kreischer.

Arnold Schwarzenegger pushed Fortune Feimster till her last rep

As per the source, the Austrian athlete took on the 42-year-old star for an intense workout session, as he trained and guided her. The latter struggled and giggled her way through the session, finally ending it with a hilarious remark. Besides that, Arnold Schwarzenegger pushed her to failure while Feimster asked the number of reps they were planning to do. At one point, the Austrian even yelled at her.

Schwarzenegger yelled at her to push her arms, “All the way down!” without directly responding to her remark and while concentrating on the workout. The comic laughed the entire time because this made her laugh. Similarly, she concluded the practice by declaring, “I’ve got an Austrian yelling at me.”

It is disheartening to know that the legend himself had to undergo the gravest of surgeries in his fitness-focused life. Nevertheless, just like any problem life threw at him, he approached it with optimism and used it as a reason to keep fit, even at 75 years of age.
