Arnold Schwarzenegger?landed on American soil in 1968. Shortly after arriving, Schwarzenegger learned about the ongoing presidential campaign. After hearing Ronald Reagan speak on television, the Austrian Oak felt inspired and decided to pledge his alliance to the Republican Party. While he focused on his?bodybuilding?and acting career, he kept a close eye on political matters.

However, in 2003, the California resident felt he needed to take action. So he ran for governor and won. Arnie served for two terms as Governor of California and had ambitions to run for president. Not being born in America makes Arnold ineligible to run for presidential elections. While the 76-year-old couldn’t run for president because of constitutional limitations, his current take on the political landscape is making many Americans lament those limitations.

The seven-time Mr. Olympia appeared on The View on ABC. Schwarzenegger addressed the sore lack of teamwork while speaking to the hosts about issues hindering progress. The Hollywood icon urged Republicans and Democrats to work together. Arnie said the opposing parties shouldn’t?“see each other as enemies.”

The Governator felt that Democrats and Republicans might be ideological adversaries but must work together. One of the hosts pointed out that some Republicans see one another as enemies despite belonging to the same political party. Schwarzenegger agreed and said it was because politicians are fighting about their differences instead of finding things both parties agree on.

The former governor said the nation needs a leader who unifies the two parties so they can focus on national issues. Arnie’s comments struck a chord with many Americans.

People praised and sided with Arnold while also asking him to take another position

“Too bad that he can not run for President,”?said one fan in the comments. Since the 76-year-old was born in Austria, the constitution doesn’t allow him to run for president. Unfortunately, it’s?one limitation The Terminator can never overcome. However, others suggested another position for the former governor.?“Can?t @schwarzenegger run for House speaker?”?wrote one fan.

Another fan reiterated the point.?“Arnold for house speaker!! He?ll work for the American people. All of them,”?the user wrote. One fan agreed that this was the bodybuilding icon’s take.?“Arnold makes a lot of sense. Both parties need to work better together,”?stated the fan. Meanwhile, one fan simply praised the 76-year-old.?”I admire Arnold Schwarzenegger, and really appreciate his advocacy within his own party, and politics for a moderate point of you and his ability to adjust and move forward,”?the fan commented.
