Now, days after all the tumult, the singer herself took to her official Instagram handle and shared a heartfelt post of her side of the story.
She posted pictures of an elaborate note that described the ongoing controversy and how it has affected her well-being. In fact, Lizzo refuted all the allegations and hinted at her own struggle with body shaming.

The 35-year-old American rapper took to Instagram a few days ago, clearly upset about the constant criticism from the public and media. Hence, she decided to confront the matter with her truth and address how it goes against her work ethic and morals. “These last few days have been gut-wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing,”?the first few lines of her post read.

With a captionless post, the note was all the highlight that explained what she?s been going through the past few days. The singer of About Damn Time asserted that former employees who disregarded proper decorum and professionalism had spread the?“sensationalized stories.”
After expressing her respect for the team and her work of art, she noted that she doesn?t intend to portray herself either as a “victim” or a villain. “There is nothing I take more seriously?I know what it feels like to be body shamed on a daily basis?” she highlighted, based on her own struggle with the issue. Thus, Lizzo assured that it would not be morally possible for her to “terminate” any employee due to their weight. Nonetheless, before this post came into existence, Doucette had already chipped in his insight on the matter.

A recent YouTube video on the bodybuilding veteran?s channel discussed the ongoing controversy over Lizzo fat-shaming her backup dancers. While providing no solid conclusion on the issue, Doucette urged the fans to choose their idols wisely and simply not idolize them based on their social persona.

“She?s been accused by not one, not two, but three dancers saying that she fat-shamed them?I don?t believe she?s being truly honest,”?the 47-year-old noted. While it was evident that he was not siding with Lizzo, he also claimed that the truth remains unknown yet.
