The actor starred in multiple projects, including the “John Wick” series and “Wanted”. In 2015, the talented Hip Hop sensation won an Oscar with John Legend in The Best Original Song category for “Glory” featured in “Selma.” He already bagged three Grammy Awards and an Emmy (2017). 

Now the versatile songwriter is just one Tony award, away from fulfilling the EGOT status. One wonders the life force behind Common’s mega success and even more spectacular social activism. The founder of Common Ground Foundation attributes a healthy lifestyle to his successful career in a recent Men’s Health interview. Moreover, when asked about the story behind his vegan diet, the rapper had a wise answer reflecting his dexterity through and through.

In the Interview, the eloquent artist attributes the New York Culture to his veganism, influenced by the surrounding milieu. By the late nineties, the rapper had adopted the new lifestyle. Furthermore, Hip Hop had an impact on his eating patterns as well. “I learned about foods and not eating certain foods through KRS songs like “My Philosophy” or “A Song Called Beef”. Or Rakim talking about fish, which is my favorite dish, but without no money is still a wish. I think it was really clever how these dudes would talk about a lifestyle and to still stay relevant to who they are and also relevant to who you are,” informed Common.

Deeply thankful for those who initiated him into an elevated sense of well-being, the “Selma” actor showed gratefulness to his colleagues. He said, “It was like Black Excellency. And so I thank them, I thank them. Erykah, Chaka, and Lorraine, they were the conduit, and the inspirations for me becoming vegan.” Incidentally, Common and Erykah Badu had collaborated on “Love of My Life, An Ode to Hip Hop” which won them a Grammy in 2003.

Lil Wayne keeps it simple by eating home prepared meal

Rapper Lil Wayne appeared on the Apple Music radio show and revealed that he does not go overboard with bodybuilding or exercises. Wayne focuses on a good diet to keep himself healthy. “So, from the age of 19 to now, I’ve always had a personal chef. I don’t know what McDonald’s smells like. I haven’t eaten any fast food in forever,” said the musician.
