Former Mr Olympia Jay Cutler recently revealed his go-to exercises that helped him compete with none other than the all-time great, Ronnie Coleman. Even though the four-time Mr. Olympia winner did not lift as much as Coleman did, Cutler did exercise and diet technically and scientifically to get to his best shape.

Cutler delved into the exercises in a recent YouTube video, revealing how he had engaged in a couple of exercises that focused on his back, emphasizing that it helped him dethrone Coleman, who won the Mr. Olympia 8 times.

Cutler elaborated on T-Bar rows and barbell rows and also explained the two exercises that he preferred. According to the Hall of Famer, he did all kinds of exercises and did not have any specific type when it came to creating the best physique. He gave a sneak peek at these exercises, saying, “This is how I chased the best bodybuilder in the world Ronnie Coleman.”

For T-bar rows, it did not matter what kind Cutler was using. A padded T-Bar, one off the floor or one that was on a platform. According to him, one had to go for the thickness and go “from front to back,” while doing the T-bar. He further elaborated on barbell rows, which was a similar kind of exercise, but Cutler preferred to do a reverse grip and also practiced an overhand grip as well. The bodybuilder would engage in the exercise at a particular angle for maximum effect. “These exercises are the meat and potatoes of all back training,” he exclaimed.

Cutler also complemented Coleman’s back muscles and compared his muscularity with his rival. He also advised people to stick to their barbell rows and T-bar rows because no matter what exercise they did, these two were the most important for gaining muscles.

In the past, Jay Cutler has also talked about the difference in training routines that he and Coleman had.
