Seven-time Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger recently gave his fans a pleasant surprise. The 76-year-old bodybuilding and fitness icon teamed up with an eight-time Mr. Olympia at Gold’s Gym. The eight-time champion was none other than Ronnie Coleman. While the former mass monster regularly trains at the Metroflex Gym, he visited California and couldn’t miss working out at the legendary Gold’s Gym.
Bodybuilding fans went wild to see two of the biggest bodybuilding icons working out together. Schwarzenegger praised the 59-year-old’s strength and said Coleman was a worthy replacement for his late best friend and workout partner, Franco Columbu. However, the bodybuilding legend also joked about feeling insecure because Coleman outdid him in every exercise.

The pair met outside Gold’s Gym, had their pre-workout, and decided to train their arms and shoulders. So Coleman and Schwarzenegger did shoulder presses, bicep curls, dips, and more on the exercise machines in the outdoor section of Gold’s Gym. While the two champions motivated one another during every set, Arnie also cracked jokes.
The Austrian Oak was persistent in pointing out why Ronnie Coleman won one more Olympia title than him. The former Mr. Universe felt insecure every time Coleman did a few more reps than him during a set. During a set of dips, the Arnold Classic winner counted his reps and said “twenty-one” while doing the last rep. The 76-year-old was flabbergasted.
“Twenty what? You see, you’re again trying to beat me by one. I mean, this has to stop, Ronnie! I mean, what will people say?” He questioned the eight-time Mr. Olympia. Arnie then answered the question himself. “Schnitzel is weak! They’ll say, ‘No wonder he has only seven Mr. Olympias, and he has eight. That’s why he is always doing a rep more.'” added Schwarzenegger.

Jokes aside, the two champion bodybuilders have immense respect for one another. In fact, Coleman was honored to work out with one of his inspirations, someone he thinks could’ve competed in any era.

During an interview with Patrick Bet-David, Ronnie Coleman talked about Arnold Schwarzenegger. Bet-David showed Coleman an image of Schwarzenegger and him hitting the side-chest pose. The host asked how Arnold Schwarzenegger would do in the mass-monster era if he had Ronnie Coleman’s nutritionist. The former champion gave Arnie the highest compliment.

“Arnold would’ve been by far the best bodybuilder ever,” Coleman said, surprising Bet-David. When the interviewer made further comparisons with Lee Haney, Coleam said neither Haney nor he would come close to beating Schwarzenegger if he had access to modern technology and nutrition.
