13 Years After Earning $275 Million Together, Arnold Schwarzenegger Says He “Did It as a Favor To” Sylvester Stallone

The movie franchise showed the reunion of two Hollywood legends and long-time rivals, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. The franchise made headlines with its star-studded cast and was a blockbuster, earning a whopping $275 million. However, news of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s absence from the upcoming installment of the franchise is shocking to many. But, the Terminator recently opened up about the recent developments and also gave an insight into how he initially agreed to work with the franchise.

Arnold Schwarzenegger opened up about the decision

In a recent interview, Arnold Schwarzenegger shed light on his decision to step away from the franchise. He revealed that the powerful duo, whose characters brought an extra level of excitement and nostalgia to the movies, will not be reunited on the big screen once again. “It’s done and I’m not in it,” he said. 

Schwarzenegger also revealed that working on the first part of The Expendables was a gift from his side to Sylvester Stallone. During the shoot, Schwarzenegger was serving as the governor of California and had a tight schedule. Despite his busy commitments, he managed to make time for the film to support his friend and co-star. “I did it as a favor to Sly,” Schwarzenegger told The Parade. 

The Terminator also explained that he had informed Stallone well in advance of the production that he would not be returning for the fourth part. Schwarzenegger’s on-screen chemistry with Stallone captivated audiences, making them an iconic duo in the action film realm. But Schwarzenegger has still given a ray of hope to the fans. 

A new twist to the old rivalry

Now it’s known that the upcoming part of Expendables won’t feature the two veteran superstars together, however, this doesn’t mean that fans won’t get to see them at all.
