With the alarming rise in obesity, millions are struggling to lose and keep the weight off. However, some people, like 13-year-old Eli Spencer, are taking matters into their own hands. The youngster uses Instagram as a personal log to stay accountable for his weight loss and bodybuilding transformation. After a year of updates, Spencer’s hard work is paying off.

The 13-year-old posted an update on his 100-day bicep curls challenge in his recent post. “Day 36 of doing a split biceps,” wrote the boy as he did set after set of traditional hammer curls with a pair of dumbbells. However, curls aren’t the only exercise the kid has been focusing on. While his fitness goal is to lose weight, he also desires to build muscle.

So Eli Spencer does other exercises like dumbbell chest press, barbell bench press, and more. While he isn’t doing everything right, the kid is learning as he goes. In another recent update, the 13-year-old thought he would target his lats by doing lateral raises. Thankfully, the fitness community is supportive of new comments and corrected Spencer.

However, the youngster’s greatest asset has been his consistency. While exercise selection and other aspects have room for improvement, Spencer is dedicated. After a year of hard work in what looks like his home gym, the 13-year-old has increased his strength. Impressed by Eli Spencer’s dedication, the fitness community continues to encourage the boy.

Besides praising Spencer, bodybuilding and fitness enthusiasts also advise the 13-year-old to help him progress. One follower explained the principle of progressive overload. “Try to do at least 8 repetitions. When you reach 10/12 repetitions increase the weight and go back to 8 repetitions,” commented one follower. “You’re strong!! Keep with the hard work, kid!” added the Instagram user. “Noticing progress bro,” wrote one follower.

“Heck yeah, man! Just remember to keep it up, eat healthy and always remember God is king. He will help you get to the end,” wrote another follower. “You are doing great brother. Always remember to eat all the healthy stuff,” encouraged another fitness enthusiast. One follower even complimented Spencer’s exercise execution. “Great form lil king! Keep it up and don’t give up! We’re proud of ya!” wrote the individual.

Eli Spencer still has a long way to go before reaching his fitness goals. However, thanks to his consistency and the fitness community’s help, he has all the tools he needs to get there.
