Renowned bodybuilding coach Marc Lobliner has raised concerns about the growing acceptance and normalizing of being overweight. Lobliner, who is often vocal about such matters had earlier revealed how he was bullied during his school days owing to his weight.
Now, Lobliner has taken to his Instagram account to address how “You can’t be fat and healthy at the same time.” Despite the prevailing societal messages promoting body positivity, Lobliner emphasized the undeniable truth that carrying excess weight can lead to serious health consequences.

Taking to Instagram, Lobliner discussed the concerning trend, where people have accepted being overweight for the sake of positivity. However, he is worried that this might make individuals face health issues and lead to premature death due to excess weight.

He expressed his concern and stated, “We see a lot of these fat people dying. They’re dying because we’re saying it’s okay to be fat.” He also mentioned how being overweight was a big factor in health problems during the pandemic, along with age.“Look, the main comorbidity for that was being, well, fat, other than being old,” stated the coach.
He continued with his significant concern and explained, “Being fat leads to so many other comorbidities. It’s like saying, hey, smoking is good for you, right? No, being fat is not good for you. It just isn’t.” On the other hand, Lobliner is not a stranger to such issues. Despite going through major struggles during his childhood, has often talked about how he used them to better himself and pursue bodybuilding.
Using his life struggles to shape others’ future
Once Lobliner shared that while growing up, he witnessed his mom struggle with dr*gs, and his dad battled type-2 diabetes due to overeating. Later, his father was diagnosed with losing sight, hearing, and mobility issues. These events impacted the bodybuilder badly. However, he was determined to break the cycle and pledged to prioritize health.
