When Chris Bumstead, his brother-in-law and former coach Ian Valliere announced they were both getting their hair transplants together in Turkey, the internet broke with excitement. Although both entities had an almost humorous reception of the procedure initially and made comical references on social media, they did not fully reveal how much pain they had to go through for it.
Chris Bumstead, the five-times Mr. Olympia in Classic Physique, recently talked about how torturous the procedure can become. He did not only mention the physical pain caused to one’s body but also the mental strain, so much so that he almost felt like getting into a panic attack.

Bumstead emphasized how the whole procedure had been a lengthy event of physical pain. He initially pointed out, “The procedure is pretty painful. You lie on your back and they jab you, pull the needles to freeze your head and that hurt like a f*cking b*tch.” Then Bumstead revealed that the procedure was excruciating because every hair would get drilled into the head. He said, “They drill into your head 4,500 times.”

CBum also shed light on the fact the physical pain was of such an intense level that it started stirring him mentally to some extent. He reported, “They numb your head, and they just inject your head full of water, and it’s full of epinephrine as well. So my heart starts racing, and I feel like I’m having a panic attack on my bed.”
The first time both the bodybuilders shared the photos of them having a hairplant, the whole community was stunned. Furthermore, they added several pictures of bald men duos in their posts to make it all fun and light.
