It is not unusual to imagine how Joseph Baena’s life changed in an instant after it was revealed that he was the youngest son of Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was 13 years old when he discovered the truth about his biological father, and the following year, Schwarzenegger himself affirmed the news publicly. However, it was around the same time when Baena was building his popularity with his skills, which somehow got diminished by the bigger news.

Baena did not hesitate to confess that anyone with a high-achieving parent, whether a celebrity or someone very locally well-regarded, would be going through the same problems as he has faced before. The bodybuilder thus openly confessed his true feelings about the whole situation.

In the recent episode of Trensparent with Nyle Nayga podcast, when Baena was asked about the most difficult aspect of his life after the revelation of his famous father, Joe related to everyone who has faced the troubles of having a high-achieving parent. He even pointed out the very subject of why it is so troublesome. He said, “It’s difficult because you’re always going to be compared; you know, you’re always going to get the comparisons.”

Although Baena confessed to having made his way out by separating himself to be his person, he still faced the difficulty of expectations. He noted, “A big thing is being able to separate myself in a way where I feel like I’m on my own path and and doing my own thing. But yeah there’s always been a pressure to be successful as well and I think that that’s that um that it’s difficult.”

On the contrary, when Arnie was asked about Baena following in his footsteps, the former actor and bodybuilder showed extreme amazement.

In an interview, Schwarzenegger was once asked how he feels about his youngest son, Joseph Baena having a similar career path as he had in his prime. The proud father replied instantly with much enthusiasm, “Joseph is into real estate, he is into acting, he is into bodybuilding… It’s kind of like the ‘Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.’”

It is not unthinkable how kids often feel the pressure from both society and their well-wishers to surpass their parents and elders who have achieved great things in their lives. In the process, it becomes hard for the kids to maintain their individuality, yet Baena claims that he has already begun the process of separation on its end and is trying his best to be his person.
