The amazing rapper ‘Method Man’ celebrated his 52nd birthday on March 2023 and he looks as fit as ever. Admired for his unique voice and lyrical genius, ‘Method Man’ is known for his unique sound. His iconic R&B collaboration with Mary J. Blige ?I?ll Be There for You/You?re All I Need to Get By?, is a cult classic and got the Grammy in 1996. The Long Island-born rapper raised the bar for the Shaolin emcee alongside Wu brothers Raekwon and Ghostface Killah.

The 90s trailblazer recently sat down with ‘Men?s Health’ and talked about his musical journey and fitness journey with bodybuilding. ‘Method Man’ a.k.a. Clifford Smith talked about how he changed his fitness routine with age after he realized that his health was deteriorating. Let?s see how he got back on track.

Method Man reveals his secret to staying fit at 52

The enigmatic man with hits like ‘Triumph’ and ‘Bring the Pain’ in his bag talked about his youth and the height of his career. While doing so, ‘Men?s Health’ posed a question asking about his health: ?What did your diet and exercise look like earlier in your career??

Smith got down directly to the answer and said, ?I say over the years, I never really paid attention to it. When you?re young, your metabolism is so fast you don?t even think about ?Am I gaining too much weight??. I was never one of the fat kids, never one of the bony kids just somewhere in the middle.?

‘Method Man’ described that his journey of fitness started later on in life when he was dissatisfied with everything about himself. ?One of the major parts of it was I didn?t feel healthy. So, I wanted to do something that would not only improve my health but improve my longevity as far as my career and life …yeah,? he said. He has previously talked about his fitness routine, so let?s dive into how the 52-year-old maintains his longevity.

Clifford Smith talks about his workout routine

The Grammy award-winning rapper has displayed his prowess in bodybuilding by bench pressing 100-pound dumbbells and impressed his 2.4 million followers on Instagram. ‘Method Man’ mostly depends on deadlifts, barbell squats, weighted neck extensions, bench presses, incline dumbbell presses, and bent-over rows for his regime.

He also adopted a vegetarian diet after learning about the risks of a meat-heavy diet at an older age.?Paul Kerton would be glad to hear this since he advocates for plant-based food to get bigger for competitions. The IFBB pro strictly follows a vegan diet since 2012 and has seen the benefits of it. At the end of the interview with ‘Men’s Health’, he was asked about his next big milestone. “I feel pretty accomplished. But you can never be too comfortable. I would say being the best grandpa, the most -fit grandpa. There you go! boom!” said the 52-year-old who finds motivation in his grandbaby Jordy.?

‘Method Man’ depends on whole foods as well, as fresh fruits and vegetables, to maintain his health. Although he has a strict diet regime of plant-based food and exercise, he has no definite time to eat his meals.
