Baxendale wrote, “I know some will notice differences between what I describe and what you watch in Blood and Guts DVD. This post attempts to explain how the workouts differed and why.” He then went on to talk about how the post is not a comparison to say that he was better the next year because Yates began his training with the very reason of just improving it.
The training partner further added, “He had identified the extra injury potential with Smiths squats for him (due to a very specific reason) and so placed leg press in every week instead of, as we did, alternating weekly leg press with Smiths machine squats.” Baxendale even added about how the atmosphere used to be entirely different back in those times.

Baxendale wrote, “You could have touched the force as it resonated around us, through us and off of us. To stand behind Dorian as he did squats was to be a part of something mythical, so powerful that nothing need be said, although we always knew which words would generate an extra burst from within the beast.” What are your thoughts on Dorian Yates?
