In the world of bodybuilding, the use of performance-enhancing drugs and steroids has been a topic of debate for a very long time. The extent of usage often becomes the core issue of the discussion. Nowadays, it is believed that many bodybuilders rely heavily on steroids to achieve their goals, but bodybuilding sensation Nick Walker has recently cleared this misconception. ‘The Mutant’ recently made headlines with his comments on the injudicious use of steroids in bodybuilding. 

The 28-year-old bodybuilding sensation recently appeared for a podcast on Coach Justin’s YouTube channel, where he opened up about various aspects of the sport. However, what caught people’s attention was when Walker revealed some underlying facts about steroid use. 

Nick Walker spits out some crucial facts

According to the 2021 Arnold Classic Champion, one of the lesser-known facts about steroid use in bodybuilding is that it is not necessary for everyone. Walker said that normal bodybuilders who have good genetics give excessive importance to the use of external drugs while there are other options present.

However, The Mutant wasn’t all idealistic, as he understood that some sections genuinely require performance-enhancing drugs for efficient growth. He added that bodybuilders who are not genetically gifted may need steroids to achieve their desired physique.

“I don’t think people need as much as they think they need to progress. Although some people that I would say are not the genetically elite that I am, may have to push a little harder. That’s where science doesn’t make sense”, he said in the video. Walker also listed the natural ways to reach a specific level of growth before switching to steroids. 

Walker advises going as natural and basic as possible

The bodybuilding star said that his approach toward healthy growth lies in the fundamentals of bodybuilding. Walker highlighted the importance of proper training, recovery, and diet, to reach optimum growth. He also emphasized that consistency is the key.

“The three major things that would take somebody to that next level as you already stated are training, recovery sleep, bodywork, and consistency“, he added.
