Orangetheory Fitness is an organization that bestows a 60-minute workout, focusing on endurance, strength, and power. They use Heart-Based Interval Training, which burns more calories post the workout session in comparison with any other conventional exercise. Moreover, Orangetheory makes fitness enthusiasts, and bodybuilders wear Heart Rate monitors, wherein the results of the exercise are displayed in real-time on large screens throughout the studio. In addition, the intensity of the training depends on a person’s own heart rate which is monitored by our fitness coaches to ensure that participants do not over or under-train themselves. 

Recently, Orangetheory Fitness in Texas and Louisiana, have funded $34,045 for the Special Olympics Texas (S0TX). The athletes who took part in the Special Olympics were paid $25 each. It was an initiative launched by Maverick Fitness Holdings, the company that owned 35 Orangetheory Fitness studios throughout Texas. 

Special Olympics Texas raised $55,000 from Orangetheory Fitness

Maverick Fitness, the second largest franchise of Orangetheory is headquartered in Frisco. It is an enterprise that aims to positively contribute to the community and ensure they meet their fitness goals.

The initiative was developed in the year 2020 with the vision to keep the athletes active during Covid-19. The group ensures science-backed, coach-inspired, and technology-tracked ultimate workout sessions.

The CEO of Special Olympics Tim Martin in North Texas was pleased to collaborate with the fitness organization by saying, “Every year now we are more and more excited about the partnership with Orangetheory Fitness as it expands to more studios, more communities, and more athletes across the state.”

Since then, the initiative has developed into an all-inclusive movement with Orangetheory Fitness across both states. Thus, since then athletes of Special Olympics have been hosted every year for a 60 to 90-minute workout session. Approximately 107 Orangetheory Fitness Studios engaged in this year’s event, along with 95 Special Olympics athletes partake in the workout regimen.

Moreover, Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) managed to raise $34,045, while Maverick Fitness was helping the total amount to reach $55,000.
Mandy Morgan, an athlete and leader of Special Olympics said, “There is something special about being in an environment where everyone is trying to work towards a personal goal, while at the same time being able to encourage a peer to keep going. I have only seen this amount of positive energy in one other place, and that is at Special Olympics.”
Moreover, the states of North Texas and Louisiana are looking forward to hosting more such workout sessions as per the long-term vision of Maverick Fitness based on the HITT approach.

Orangetheory Fitness’s vision is to amalgamate training and science

Orangetheory Fitness has devised a unique long-term vision of fitness to amalgamate the trifecta of coaching, science, and technology. Most of the athletes and bodybuilders train hard to burn calories and get a muscular physique. However, the HITT approach is a heart rate-based method to elevate and increase an athlete’s heart rate while a full-body workout session will effectively burn more calories. Moreover, after hosting the 3rd consecutive Special Olympics the Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships, Dalton Hill as the participants were pleased with the workout and awaiting the next Olympics to take place.

As backed and supported by the science of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC), Orangetheory Fitness is working towards producing the ‘Orange Effect.’ According to this approach, the participant will keep on burning calories for the next 36 hours after taking a 60 to 90-minute workout session.
