The seven-time Mr. Olympia and face of the golden era of bodybuilding, Arnold Schwarzenegger, seems to think so and encourages his audience to do exactly that.

As usual, he is here to support his claims with scientific research. In the latest edition of Austrian Oak’s newsletter, the Arnold’s Pump Club, he shared valuable insights on how to keep your brain young and healthy. Let’s find out what the Terminator has to offer.

Not doing enough challenging tasks might lead your brain to age faster

Arnie started by sharing research that found out that forcing your brain to learn something new and challenging can “protect your brain against age-related decline.” Doing this improves your cognition, memory, and focus. The Austrian Oak shed light on the fact that the “human brain starts to decline as you age.”

But don’t get all worked up; research has found that doing the “right” mental challenges will help you keep your brain engaged. Arnie shared, citing scientific research that learning a new language can be one of the best boosters for your brain.

Studying a second language forces your neural network to reorganize and restructure, which is like fertilizer for your brain health,” wrote the Terminator.

This is not the first time the Austrian Oak has encouraged his fans to step out of their comfort zone. Earlier, he shared how he’s challenging himself for his upcoming project.

In the previous edition of the Terminator’s newsletter, he asked his followers to do something challenging. The seven-time Mr. Olympia shared that he’s taking dancing classes for the new season of FUBAR. The dancing classes took him back to the days when he used to do ballet to improve his posing.

The former Governor of California mentioned that this is not an easy task to do, but you can gradually step out of your comfort zone and achieve unmatched success like him. While going through the slow process, one might get frustrated, and the Austrian Oak has the perfect solution for that. He wrote, “Don’t take yourself so seriously — go so far as laughing at yourself.
