In the interview, Davis confessed she still had something to say when she signed on for the series revival And Just Like That.“Just because we’re in our 50s doesn’t mean we don’t have important stories to tell.” The mother of two added that age has also brought perspective. She said, “When you get older you’re like ‘What makes me happy? How am I enriched or can I enrich someone else?’ You’re thinking more deeply, and I love that part of aging.”

Her thought process and work as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commission is proof that she is enriching other people’s lives through fitness. On a recent trip to UNHCR, she traveled to Moldova, where Davis met with Ukrainian refugees who had to flee the war in their home country. Davis narrated the story of one refugee, saying, “One 20-year-old we met, Angelina, was telling us that a missile fell and killed her father right in front of her. She couldn’t come to terms with how to think about the world.”

She also added how beauty is just skin deep and said, “You hear these stories from people and there could be nothing further from my mind than people’s opinion of my face on Instagram.” Davis sat in a yoga class that was set up for the Ukrainian refugees, who were mostly women and children. The 117,000 people came to Moldova in a state of utter shock and had to settle in a new but welcoming country (Moldova).

Davis narrated, “You could tell the change in each of the women who had come to that class.” She added how yoga helps and said, “They can’t go home and they all are suffering from PTSD. They’ve had to try to find ways to help their mental health. Yoga is a powerful tool to help them deal with what they are going through.” Davis knows the power of yoga from her own experience.
