While most individuals start their fitness journey in an attempt to look better and more impressive than before, countless individuals fall into the trap of a common obsession or mental condition referred to as body dysmorphia. Despite looking flawless and attractive, some people still feel insecure about how they look or about a specific body part. Even the likes of bodybuilding veteran Chris Bumstead and renowned fitness creator Tristyn Lee have admitted their battles with body dysmorphia in the past. In a surprising turn of events, another shocking revelation came out of the entertainment sector as American actress Lili Reinhart tweeted about her insecurities and struggles with body dysmorphia. 

As it came as a blow to many of her followers, Reinhart’s courage to come out and admit her battles with body image serves as a reminder that the condition is not as rare as people might think.

Loved for her applaudable role in the Netflix TV series ‘Riverdale,’ Reinhart won countless hearts as she played the part of ‘Betty Cooper.’ Thanks to the series, she stacked up a massive following of almost 27 million followers on her Instagram. While her fans go head over heels for Reinhart, she recently admitted that she is battling with body dysmorphia.

In her recent tweet, she wrote, “I wish there were more average sized arms represented in mainstream media for women. My body dysmorphia has been going crazy because I feel like my arms need to be half the size they are currently?” Reinhart further added to this by commenting on her own tweet.

In an attempt to spread awareness about the issue of body dysmorphia, Lili used her social media to spread the word to other women that “they aren’t alone.” Stating her own example, Reinhart made it clear that she also struggles with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Talking about this, she disclosed, “I truly wonder how anyone survives or gets through this life without having severe BD. Maybe it’s a cruel amplified version in combination with my OCD, but da*n. The amount of time I’ve wasted thinking about my arms in the last few months is insane.”
