UK strongwoman Lucy Underdown possesses incredible strength. After becoming a strongwoman, Underdown has chased strength records throughout her career. In her quest to clinch the women’s deadlift record, the strongwoman lifted 661 pounds in 2022. However, around two weeks ago, the 6’2″, 242 lbs. strongwoman shattered her previous lifts and deadlifted 700 lbs. She became the?“first woman in history” to deadlift so much weight.
Underdown cherish the historic moments in women’s strength sports. However, her joy was short-lived, as she couldn’t relish her incredible record. While Underdown regularly posts on social media, her activity decreased after reaching a new high in her career. Earlier, the strongwoman revealed the unfortunate circumstances that have kept her off training and social media.
Lucy Underdown contracted an unexpected illness

The UK strongwoman posted on Instagram earlier. She uploaded the celebratory image of her standing on the podium with a trophy in hand after setting the women’s deadlift record.?“I honestly cannot get over that feeling. If I could bottle it up for everyone, I really would love everyone to feel exactly how that felt!”?wrote Underdown about her record. However, she followed it up with bad news.
Underdown said she has been quiet since then,?“because three days after this lift I got the new Covid Strain.”?Unfortunately, it wasn’t a mild fever either.?“I’ve been struggling ever since. I’ve been really quite poorly,”?wrote the record-setter. The 32-year-old said she has been?“trying to get through and recover as quickly as possible.”?However, it’s taking longer than she had hoped.

Lucy Underdown also had some more concerning news for her fans. The woman?who has nearly equal to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s deadlift record?wrote that Britain’s Strongest Woman is?“right around the corner.”?However, the 32-year-old is confident in her abilities.
The strongwoman is down but not out
Underdown admitted her situation is not ideal for competing in the upcoming competition.?“But there’s no need to stress. I know what my body is capable of,”?she wrote.?“I don’t need to panic… just yet!”?added the strongwoman. While she is down with the new COVID-19 strain, she is not ready to?“give up that top spot on that podium.”
Lucy Underdown ended the caption by thanking her fans. She thanked people for the positivity regarding her record-setting 7,000-pound deadlift.?“Now… Let’s get better and smash Brits!”?the strongwoman wrote enthusiastically.
