Bodybuilding enthusiasts are curious to learn ways to improve their efficiency at workout sessions, and the internet provides them with various alternatives. However, no one would have thought a common ingredient in our kitchens could amplify the training performance until Pro Strongman and Pro Bodybuilder Jon Andersen suggested it.

The 51-year-old’s athletic career is a testimony to his strength and power in the wrestling ring and Strongman field. So, when he proposed a simple way to increase efficiency at the gym, there would perhaps be no harm in considering it.

Often, salt and sugar are considered to be notorious for deteriorating health among individuals. But when taken before a workout session, Andersen believes it works positively. “Salt loading before a workout actually improves your performance to a pretty drastic level. You’d be surprised,” he claimed in one of his Instagram videos. However, there is a catch.

Andersen is not negating the ill effects of salt in processed foods as he argues that their consumption can add a lot of “sh** salt” to the body, leading to poor health. So, what does the Strongman enigma propose? The 51-year-old suggests adding adequate salt to whole foods to assimilate its benefits in the body.

He also suggests a few healthy salts. “My favorite, Celtic salt, like 84, 87 minerals. You can use pink Himalayan, sea salt. Don’t just use a crappy table salt,” he elaborated in his post while underscoring how the ingredient is an essential mineral to keep the body energetic.

So, to minimize cravings, the Austrian Oak suggested having meals that are not overloaded with fats, salt, and sugar. However, the 76-year-old never stops you from having a home-baked Kaiserschmarrn once in a while. Arnie advocates a sustainable lifestyle for his village so that they can lead a healthy and complete life.

In short, both Jon Andersen and Arnold Schwarzenegger underscore the ill effects of salt the body acquires from ultra-processed foods. However, one can try other varieties of salts to verify Andersen’s claims.
