After facing a severe setback during a powerlifting meet in April, Strongman athlete Hafthor Bjornsson‘s career took a downhill turn. After an initial few good sessions, a third workout resulted in a tragedy as he tore his pectoral muscle. The icon had to undergo surgery, post which he developed a surgical infection. Moreover, about 7 years ago, the athlete also survived Bell?s Palsy virus that resulted in half of his face getting paralyzed.?

However, things have taken a good turn currently for Bjornsson, and his recent Instagram post is proof. He had been sharing routine updates on his recovery with the community, whereas his latest update displayed him stepping back into the gym, trying out deadlifts.

Taking to his Instagram a few hours ago, the Icelandic pro shared a video of him deadlifting a 100kg barbell, slowly and steadily. The video was captured in his gym and after his session, he could be seen taking a sip of his Reign Body Fuel drink. A good recovery insinuation was made in his caption.?

?Back deadlifting 100kg. Life is good,? the 34-year-old athlete wrote in his caption while mentioning the energy drink company?s official handle. He gathered massive support from his peers and fans as they took to the comments to acknowledge his efforts. Therefore, a comment by a user encouraged the star athlete to gain 5 times more than his usual self this time.?

This came to the icon?s notice as he replied to the comment with an inspiring statement. ?Let?s get big or die tryin?? he chimed in. Bjornsson emphasized his staggering mindset, implying that he?s ready to give it all to get bigger. However, this is not the first time the athlete is struggling with sudden health issues.?

The 2018 World?s Strongest Man titlist once dedicated a post to update his fans on a difficult phase of his life. On April 1st, 2017, Bjornsson revealed that the right side of his face felt numb and eventually, the condition got worse, and ended up getting paralyzed. After he was sent to the ER for a medical checkup, he and his friends assumed that he was having a stroke.?

However, after running routine tests, it was found that he had caught a viral infection of Bell?s Palsy. Moreover, he was set to perform at Europe?s Strongest Man and warned his fans that he won?t be able to smile for pictures because of his paralysis. Yet, The Mountain was hopeful of his show at the competitions and ready to beat the competitors, as stated in his caption.?
