The bodybuilding community is a rather vast and diverse tapestry that has been woven by individuals bound by their pursuit of strength, conditioning, and health. From amateur fitness enthusiasts who are running at the beginner’s level to legendary athletes who keep pushing themselves to get better each day, the community has always stood beside one another.

The recent turn of events taking place in Ohio is a testament to it. A child from Boardman has been battling high-risk neuroblastoma since the age of 4. She went viral ever since the Akron Children’s Hospital posted a special video of her, gaining them close to a million views. However, she passed away at the age of 9 and a recent Strongman competition paid tribute to her.

The Ohio Strongman Competition pays tribute to Nora Sabella

Every year, Ohio’s Strongest Man or Woman contest is held in Youngstown and provides contestants the chance to qualify for the national level competitions. It also often raises money for a great cause. This year, they have all come together to raise money for Nora Sabella, who was also regarded as ‘The Warrior Princess’. She has managed to leave a huge impact on the fitness community within such a short period of time.

Nora Sabella has been exceptionally strong through her battle and has spoken to several people through social media, inspiring them with her story. Her mother said, “Even through her Cancer diagnosis, Nora took every opportunity to play and be a kid.” She even added that she was extremely overwhelmed that the athletes had gathered in Youngstown to break the record so that they could raise funds to continue the legacy of the 9 YO.

 The contestants in Ohio’s Strongest Man and Woman championships not only come there to get themselves better but also to stand beside and help each other. Well, this is not the first time the community has come together to help out. The fundraiser for Zac Sporleder was a huge success too.

The fitness community gathered to raise support for Zac Sporleder

A few days ago, KSN TV covered news where a local fitness trainer at Foundations Fitness set a fundraiser in motion for a young athlete, Zac Sporleder, who has been suffering from Leukaemia. When asked what he wishes to do, the boy replied he wants to get back to the gym.

Suffering from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, the strong will of the young kid to get back to his happy place and recover left the local fitness trainer inspired. He decided to do every bit he can to make his wish come true! This was another time the fitness community stood in solidarity. What do you think about such fundraisers?
