After being unable to qualify for the 2023 Mr. Olympia, James Hollingshead focused on improving his physique. The bodybuilding community witnessed those improvements in Sweden. The nearly 300 lbs mass monster showed off his physique during a guest posing session at the NPC Worldwide Swedish Grand Prix.
The London resident qualified for the 2022 Mr. Olympia, thanks to the point system. However, despite earning enough points to qualify, he had to settle for 16th place. The IFBB Pro wasn’t satisfied and vowed to improve. Hollingshead’s offs-season shape impressed the bodybuilding community, who commented on a post by Bis and Tris.
James Hollingshead made several posts about his guest posing. It was evident from his posts that the English bodybuilding star enjoyed his time in Sweden. “Spreading the word of bodybuilding around the world whether we are on or off that stage,” wrote Hollingshead in one post where he posed among the audience.

While the Super Bowl of bodybuilding disappointed Hollingshead with its production in 2022, he praised the Swedish Grand Prix. “Last one for the weekend. Had to make it count. What a crowd and what a show,” wrote the IFBB Pro. Although the bodybuilder is in the middle of the off-season, he sports a chiseled physique.
Fans noticed the improvements in overall muscularity. While they praised his efforts, they also pointed out parts Hollingshead could improve further.
The bodybuilding community makes a positive prediction
While Hollingshead finished 16th last time, one fan thinks he could crack the top 10 with one improvement. “Thicker abs will get him 8th in Olympia,” wrote the fan. “His physique screams strong and powerful,” a fan wrote in praise. “Once he hits his stride, he’s going to be incredibly dangerous,” predicted another fan.

However, not everyone shared the positivity despite seeing improvements. “I love his physique but for whatever reason it just doesn’t relate as well on an Olympia stage,” commented a fan. “I always think that James is more impressive during his off-season or right after a contest than on stage proper. That’s a great look to have regardless,” said another fan, pointing out that Hollingshead may be struggling to peak at the right time.
Despite the few skeptics, the majority of the bodybuilding community thought James Hollingshead made improvements. However, only time will tell if he qualifies for the 2024 Mr. Olympia. What did you think of Hollingshead’s physique? Tell us in the comments.
